About Open Arms ELC in Florida
Open Arms Early Learning Center is a play-based learning facility in Florida. We care for children from 1 to 11 years old and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development. Open Arms gives parents the peace of mind they’re searching for. You can rest assured that your child will be safely looked after in a center that engages them in exciting educational activities.
Our Philosophy
At Open Arms ELC, we aim to provide a developmentally appropriate early learning experience for children and offer families the comfort of knowing their little one is receiving the highest quality care.
Open Arms adopts a Christian philosophy when teaching our children how to care about and share the world. Our daycare is located inside a church.
By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we are able to create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.

Who We Are
Open Arms Early Learning Center got its start in Philadelphia by Joy Maxwell. With years of experience in teaching and child care, Joy decided to create a space which fosters early learning in a fun and safe environment where children feel empowered to explore the world around them.
Since then, Joy has expanded Open Arms and set up an Early Learning Center in Florida to keep delivering high-quality child care across states.
We believe our innovative approach gives children a bright and positive start in life as we encourage both exploration and discovery as well as emotional intelligence and building friendships.

Facilities
Our whole facility is filled with light and decorated with lots of colors, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere within the center.

Little Stars, 1-2-year-olds
Our Little Stars (1-2-year-olds) already shine so much! We are here to simply nurture their potential and personality. Our low ratios have dedicated staff to provide our Little Stars with the individual care and attention they need at a young age. We support their development through the use of sensory activities and age-appropriate toys.
Shining Stars, 3-4-years-old
Our Shining Stars are aged 3-4-years-old.
Having nurtured our Little Stars, our Shining Stars are given lots of hands-on activities that keep their light shining bright. They are given lots of opportunities to play and explore with open-ended resources and role-play materials. Each activity is created to be both age- and stage-appropriate and adjustable to each child's level of ability. We encourage children to join in group activities and learn and play with others to help them develop their emotional skills.
Shooting Stars, 4-5-years-old
Our focus for our 4-5-year-olds is school readiness. They are shooting for the stars and ready to embark on this new adventure. The room is filled with exciting learning materials and the children are given every opportunity to explore the world in new and exciting ways. Our creative resources, reading materials, and math equipment provide the children with the strong educational foundations they need in preparation for the next step in their educational journey.
Outside Space
A fenced-in play area offers the children the opportunity to get outside, enjoying the fresh air and exploring the natural world. We have a variety of playground equipment for them to jump, climb, leap, and play on, helping to develop their gross motor skills, as well as their social skills.
We also have a Garden which the children visit twice a week with our gardening teacher. Here, they grow their own plants and can learn more about nature, including insects and growth cycles. It’s a fantastic opportunity to mix up how we teach the children and give them a hands-on experience!
Staff
Open Arms Early Learning Center is staffed with the most talented, dedicated, and professional teachers and caretakers.
Communication between staff and parents is important to us at Open Arms and our staff is bilingual (Spanish) to ensure that we can communicate with all parents and families.
Our incredible staff is our most valuable asset when it comes to providing your child with a safe and fun-filled early learning center.

Open Arms offers the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK). The VPK Program offers free pre-kindergarten for 4-year-olds and prepares learners for success in kindergarten and school. We also offer 4C funding/ School Readiness. Please ask the team for more information.
